Local Spending

Our funds are utilized assisting those affected by Multiple Sclerosis within our local community: subsidizing socials, providing therapy treatment vouchers, funding weekly "keep active" sessions.

We encourage everyone to attain their full potential by helping to improve quality of life in a variety of caring and supporting ways.

Funds available

The IOW Group would like it known that there are local funds available via a grant application for items that you feel would help make your life easier. It could be a contribution towards home adaptions, exercise equipment, respite break, holiday, mobility aids, furnishings, powered scooter/wheelchair etc. Anything that helps you, live well with MS, is money well spent.

Eligibility criteria are tightening, a result of budget cuts within statutory authorities and fewer people are being offered help. The MS Society have always aimed to help people with MS with items they need because of their disability but for which they cannot get statutory help.

Group support volunteers ensure that applications are dealt with appropriately and effectively. Groups are required by the Society’s constitution to assist anyone with MS and our funds are therefore open to non-members as well as members.

All successful applications will be awarded from local group funds. Anyone who wishes to apply to the group for a grant must complete a MS Society’s application form which is available upon request.
